We encourage doing more than one class, so we offer a 30% discount for enrolment in a second class and a 10% discount for siblings/families.

Monday

Circus for Homeschoolers

Time: Monday 1.30 – 2.30pm
Trainer: Margaret Kirby
Cost: $165
Description:
Suitable for beginners and intermediate students, this class covers basic tumbling, acrobatics, manipulation (juggling, hooping etc) and Aerial. Lots of fun and great skills in developing body coordination, awareness, stength and conditioning. Beneficial in both social and physical development.

Parkour 5-8 Years

Time: Monday 4.00 – 5.00pm
Trainers: Flynn Patrao and Bryan Nikolas Jones
Cost: $165
Description:
Parkour is a discipline in which practitioners (Traceurs) train to adapt their movements to efficiently overcome obstacles in their environment.
Free Running is a related discipline in which the practitioner seeks out artistic and expressive ways of interacting with obstacles while moving through an environment.
This class teaches both Parkour and Freerunning, combining efficient movements such as vaulting, rolling, climbing and leaping with expressive movements like flips, saults, spins and twists. Students will improve their strength, agility, balance and coordination as they learn to traverse their environments and overcome physical and mental barriers.

Cost:  $150 (Casual Class $15)

The Open Practice class is facilitated by our trainers and focuses on physical conditioning and supporting Traceurs to develop self discipline as they build on their skills in an open style practice session.

Tuesday

Circus Preschoolers

Let your little ones bounce, balance and learn the foundations of circus skills with experienced instructors in a safe group environment.  Improve motor skills, coordination, balance, strength and confidence in a friendly but disciplined setting. Ages 3 – 5.

Circus 5-8 Years

Description:

Description:
Castlemaine Circus students will be developing up some new repertoire performances and building on their circus skills. Under the watchful direction of our awesome trainers small group performances, duos and trios will be created for showing at upcoming events. You need to be enrolled in another Circus class to be part of the performance ensemble.

Wednesday

Advanced Aerial Class 

Time: Mondays 1.30 – 3.00pm

Description:
Advanced aerials with Castlemaine Circus will focus on the four most popular aerial apparatus- aerial hoop, static trapeze, rope and silks. Participants will learn comprehensive aerial specific conditioning techniques and advanced skills on all apparatus. This is a small class with strong personal training focus.

Gym for Circus (6-10 Years)

Time: Wednesday 4.00 – 5.00pm
Trainers: Margaret Kirby and Shelley Hargreaves

Description:
This new class will take a focused approach on strength, balance,  flexibility and conditioning to support the circus skills that are grounded in gymnastic technique.  This class is great for beginners.

Aerial Class

Little Circus 

Time: Thursday 9.30  – 10.20am

Description:
Our newest class for our youngest circus stars. This class requires a parent or carer to participate in the class. Our trainers will lead the class and grown ups will be actively involved in supporting your little one to learn balance, explore new equipment and learn the foundations of circus skills in a safe group environment.  Ages 1.5 – 3.

Physical Theatre & Clown: 9-12 Years

Time: Saturday 11.15 – 12.45pm

Description:
These classes will explore the exciting world of physical theatre where we will develop characters and short pieces using the body, the space and everyday objects. Classes will explore physical acting, movement, develop physical characters, and using improvisation we will create short scenes and sequences.  If the group is interested in performing we will create short pieces to perform at the end of term to families.
Classes develop confidence, skills in group work and collaboration. Perfect for young people who love using their imagination, and using their bodies to create.
