Funding from Regional Arts Australia, has meant a 4 month creative project with Asking for Trouble Physical Theatre, culminating in an innovative site-specific physical theatre performance entitled “Playing on the Edge”.
Castlemaine Circus and Asking for Trouble Physical Theatre have come together to share a youth led creative process with the Castlemaine Circus youth ensemble, trainers, and professional artists utilising the collaborative expertise of Asking for Trouble.

All Access Circus / Parkour: 2-12yrs
A Play Space for Neurodivergent Kids

A weekly circus / parkour class for neurodivergent kids for ages 2 – 12 years.
Term 4: Wed 9 Oct – Wed 11 Dec. 11.45 – 12.45pm
An opportunity for kids to grow in confidence, be creative, be physical and feel welcomed. 

The classes will be both structured and exploratory so kids can choose what to engage with, learn at their own pace and have fun in the circus space. There will be a chill out area in the space with sensory play. The class will develop foundational skills in tumbling, balancing, swinging, climbing, leaping and vaulting. Participants can build their strength, coordination, agility, confidence and sense of belonging. They can learn how to take safe, physical risks that are not only fun but helpful for development.

A small class for up to 10 students with their parents/carers. Enrol a sibling as well. Carers are invited into the space to have fun and support their child.

Structure of the class:

  • Warm up and stretch
  • Demonstration of activities
  • Explorative play at circus/parkour stations
  • Engage with giant obstacle course
  • Support/demonstrations from trainer, Flynn Patrao
  • Short closing activity

For all levels, beginners most welcome.

You can trial the first class, then enrol for the term.
Price: $220 (10 week term) / $110 (5 week block Oct 9-Nov 6 / Nov 13 – Dec 11).
